An umbrella-like condensation cloud hovers just above the summit. This type of cloud is sometimes seen in winter when the air is very cold. It signals a continuation of clear skies.

Mount Fuji. Dawn breaks soon after 4 a.m., and at this elevation the light is often awesomely beautiful. For many trekkers, the main reason for getting to the summit is to enjoy the sunrise.
